Dosage

For those who do not require rapid onset analgesic effect may take 25 mg orally once a day as initial dose. Can have a 25mg increment every 3 days to reach a dose of 25mg four times in a day. Maximum dosage is 400mg per day.

Extended-release (ER):

100mg orally a day for 18 years or older adult

Maximum dose – 300mg a day

Geriatric Dose for Pain:

Dose selection should be very cautious and according to the prescriptions only.

For age of over 75 years:

Maximum dosage – 300mg per day for immediate release

Geriatric Dose for Chronic Pain:

Dose selection should be very cautious and according to the prescriptions only.

For age of over 75 years:

Maximum dosage – 300mg per day for immediate release

Pediatric Dose for Pain:

Tramadol (Ultram) is not recommended for use in pediatric patients
